I have been a personal fitness trainer for the past decade. I was a jack of many trades before, but after healing from a life-threatening accident, I was inspired to assist others in the same way that I helped myself. The accident caused a serious brain injury. I could no longer walk, talk, or function on any normal level. In fact, the physicians questioned if I would ever walk or effectively process thought patterns again.

I had to relearn everything. Mentally, I was child-like and had the capacity of a 6 to 8 year old, but, physically, I was in the body of a 30-year old. I felt like Tom Hanks in ‘BIG’. It was a long, hard road, but we always learn the most when we are faced with hardship. I gained so much insight, and learned to appreciate what most of us take for granted—the ability to just live and to purely survive. The saying, ‘you don’t know what you have until it’s gone’ is very true.

The rehabilitation process was grueling and incredibly humbling, but I pushed my body and mind, attaining the unthinkable. In total, I was in the hospital for three months, and my body weight dropped from 230 pounds to 185 pounds. When I was released, I started going to the gym twice a day just to strengthen my basic muscles. Before you know it, I was back at 230 pounds, but a better me, topping the charts at 230 pounds with lean muscle mass.

I refer to myself as an example of how anyone can overcome their challenges. Since then, I have devoted my life to health and fitness.

Ever since I was a young teen I have always been drawn to fitness. I remember playing my mom’s Jane Fonda workout records and doing the exercises in our basement. Since then I have been involved in the ever-changing world of fitness.

I want to help people discover their fitness potential, change their attitudes towards exercise through positive and manageable experiences.

After  attending Group  Fitness training classes  faithfully for years Colleen realized that exercise  was not only fun but was also reaping great physical benefits after becoming an integral part of daily life.   It was a natural  transition to take  courses to learn more about the healthy balance of fitness and good nutrition.

Applying these learned principles to her own health at the same time encouraging others in achieving their own fitness goals has become a passion of Colleen’s.

Finding  new and interesting ways to move is an ongoing lifetime learning curve and once Colleen discovered TNT Fitness full body workout bootcamps she never looked back.  TNT workouts have been challenging yet rewarding achieving the greatest results in a relatively short period.  Colleen has come to conclude TRX Core fitness component is key to building strength and agility with a focus on mimicking practical real life movement.

Colleen is now driven and committed to finding solutions for all fitness levels and enjoys celebrating every victory whether being able to reach a little farther, go a little longer or taking a challenging exercise just a little beyond the expected realizing  the sum total adds up to a healthy enjoyment of life and is absolutely worth the effort .

Candice is a Canadian Fitness Education Services certified personal trainer. She has been training with TNT Fitness since August 2012. Candice has always had a passion and personal interest in health and fitness and understands the hard work and dedication that goes into building a strong healthy body.

Specializing in TRX suspension training she believes that every person has a need to be motivated and encouraged to push themselves to be the best they can be! With over 1000 training hours with the TRX she believes it is one of the best tools to strengthen the body especially the core. Whether you are doing a bicep curl or a lunge the core is always engaged. The human body is capable of amazing things and she can help you achieve your personal greatness. Candice can create a program to fit any level and uses a number of different tools to create a fun, fast paced and innovative sweat session.
